From colocation halls to the back-office server room
Stockton’s IT spaces range from colocation halls to single server closets. Colocation suites, carrier rooms and private cages each come with their own access rules. Local hospitals, distributors, school districts and banks also keep server rooms and network closets inside their own buildings.
Whether it fills a hall or a single closet, IT equipment pulls in the air around it, along with whatever dust is in that air. Regular, controlled cleaning keeps intakes and filters clear and makes the room easier for your team to work in. We handle it with the same care your IT staff take with the equipment itself.
Your rules come first
Data center cleaning starts with your procedures. The rooms on the list, the hours crews can enter, who escorts them and what they’re allowed to touch are all set with your facility or IT lead before the first visit. Crews sign in, wear the badge they’re issued and stay with their escort inside controlled spaces.
Equipment stays off-limits. Cabinets stay closed, cables stay put, and keyboards, power switches and rack tops are left exactly as they are. Every cleaner is background-checked, and a supervisor returns for quality inspections after scheduled visits.
Clean air, clean tools
Tools are chosen so the room ends up cleaner than it started. Crews bring vacuums with HEPA filtration, lint-free cloths and only the cleaning products your site has listed, put on the shoe covers and gloves your entry procedure calls for, and keep aerosol sprays and paper towels out of the room. Wipers are dampened, not soaked, so no moisture reaches equipment.
Working from high to low
Dust falls, so cleaning always starts at the top. Overhead cable trays, ledges and light fixtures come first, then the exteriors of cabinets and enclosures on your list, then the walls and doorways, with the floor saved for last. Floors are vacuumed with HEPA filtration and damp-mopped with a low-residue solution, and perforated tiles are cleaned without pushing debris down into the plenum.
Under the raised floor
In rooms with raised floors, the space underneath carries cooling air to the equipment. With your team’s permission, a few tiles are lifted at a time, the concrete below gets a HEPA vacuuming, pedestals and stringers are wiped, and the tiles are set back exactly where they came from. Loose debris such as zip-tie tails and packaging scraps is bagged and removed.
Scheduling around your change calendar
IT teams plan their work weeks ahead, and cleaning fits into that plan. Visits are booked into quiet windows, usually nights or weekends, and moved if a maintenance or migration window lands on the same night. Your facility lead gets a short note after each visit listing the rooms cleaned and anything that looked out of place, such as a missing floor tile or a propped-open door.
Cage moves, rack installs and decommissions leave debris behind: foam, cardboard, zip-tie tails and label backing. A one-time detail visit after the move clears the cage, the aisle and the floor around it so the cage can be handed straight to its next user.
The rest of the building
The people who look after the equipment need a clean workplace too. Network operations centers, offices, break rooms and restrooms are cleaned on our regular janitorial services schedule, and shipping and staging rooms, where cardboard and pallets bring in dust, are swept and mopped. After a buildout or equipment refresh, post-construction cleaning clears drywall dust and debris before the room goes live.
Server rooms inside an office or warehouse join that building’s regular route, cleaned at the frequency your IT team chooses. Larger industrial sites can bundle them with industrial cleaning services for the warehouse floor and docks.
What sets the price
Each quote follows a free walkthrough with your facility or IT team. The factors are the square footage of equipment space, raised floor area and how often the subfloor is cleaned, visit frequency, escort and sign-in time, entry garment requirements, and how much office and support space comes with it. Night and weekend windows are available.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Can you clean the server room in our office?
Yes. It joins your building’s regular route and is cleaned with HEPA and low-lint methods at the frequency your IT team picks.
Do cleaners need an escort?
In controlled spaces, yes. Crews sign in, wear the badge your site issues and stay with your escort throughout.
Will crews touch our racks or cables?
No. Equipment, cables, keyboards and switches are left alone. Crews clean the room and only the exterior surfaces your list names.
Is the space under a raised floor included?
Yes, with your permission. A few tiles are lifted at a time, the subfloor is HEPA-vacuumed and each tile is put back in place.
